Book launch webinar
Join the authors, along with special guests Lord Deben, Caroline Lucas and Jon Alexander for the launch of The Climate Majority Project book!
Bring come coffee and crumpets along to this breakfast meeting from 8:15-9:45 am GMT on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
During this book launch, expect to find out more about our theory and practice for this vital initiative. The Climate Majority Project anthology features guest chapters from organisers of citizen climate action in the UK; which is exemplified both in our campaigns and the people on the ground who are already creating the conditions for a serious, urgent majority response to the climate and nature crisis. Sign up here and meanwhile, get your copy!
Open call for teachers with the Climate Psychology Alliance
You are warmly invited to join the next Open Call on March 25, from 19:00-20:30 GMT. In collaboration with the Climate Psychology Alliance, this call is specifically for teachers, to learn more about the support that is out there and connect with people and resources.
If you are wondering “How do I deal with this on top of everything else?,” our mission is first and foremost to support teachers in addressing these challenges instead of adding curricular burdens to your many responsibilities. Sign up here and bring a colleague along!

The CMP mission and vision
As a team we underwent a deliberation process which brought us to updated and improved versions of our mission and vision:
Vision
To catalyse a mindset shift towards climate responsibility at all levels of society, that limits ecological harm, embraces adaptation and protects our planet for future generations.
Mission
To accelerate effective, coordinated climate action across society by a broad-based coalition of climate-concerned citizens; from grassroots initiatives to high-level policy.
CMP at innovation zero
On April 30-May 1, a panel for our Market Makers campaign will be speaking at Innovation Zero – the UK’s largest Net Zero congress, which provides a meeting place for announcements, partnerships, deal-making, and collaborations for those who develop, produce, deploy, and fund low carbon solutions. A majority of business people privately believe that this cannot be achieved without ambitious new laws, and we are here to help them become real market makers by puncturing the policy taboo.
Gathering on Culture Peace in Bergerac, France
From May 3rd to 31st, The Climate Majority Project will be hosting a Culture Peace gathering at the Bergerac Practice Hub, of Life Itself, a meta-crisis-aware network co-founded by our co-director Liam. Take a train down to Bergerac, enjoy nice weather and get a taste of the next stage of cultural evolution.
Culture war has been brewing for some time. Are you sick of it enough to make peace? What would that look like? That’s what we’ll explore, together. We’ll reflect on how our (sub-)cultures’ unquestionable, and even sacred beliefs, and our taboos come into conflict. We will work on ways of diffusing and getting past this conflict as well. We will practice holding the tension between two facts: No single way of looking at things is right, however, for certain things some views are more useful than others.
Attendees will help determine the specific topics that we cover. These are likely to include:
Navigating identity politics
Disagreeing passionately and peacefully
How the climate emergency can unify us
Respecting everybody — even people we deeply disagree with.
You can find out more about this gathering and apply here.
Volunteering
If you like community organising and believe in the importance of local papers, there are people in our networks organising initiatives across the UK which will require 30 minutes of your time and basic computer skills. To get involved, please contact peterscott8765@gmail.com.
Stop road expansion in Derby!
"Derby residents are fighting a £250 million Government road expansion that threatens their environment and community. The scheme will fell thousands of trees, increase carbon emissions, noise and air pollution. 11.38 hectares of woodland will be cut down with only 6.40 hectares planned for replanting.
They successfully stopped it before in 2021 on environmental grounds and are gearing up for another court trial on 14th May 2024.
Please help support this legal challenge and make a difference in this critical environmental and community effort: https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/stop-the-a38-road-expansion-for-good/"
Sincerely,
The CMP Team
